Today I feel like a scientist who has made an astonishing discovery. I know something wonderful has happened but I don't know yet what the consequences of that happening will be. It will probably be years before the result of our experiment take fruit. All I can say for a certainty is that today we are opening Pioneer Academy of Science and that it will have a tremendous impact on this area and its people.

Sometime in the future for example a past student may hit the headlines and we will know that we have helped in that achievement. That is not to say that, those who do not hit the headlines are failures. Every single one of us has a place in society. That part cannot be played by anybody else in the world. So whether you are headline names or not, does not really matter. What matters is that, here you will be able to obtain an education that will enable you to make the most of your individual skills and, more importantly, fulfill your potential.

It is a fascinating thought that no two people here today are exactly the same. Some of us can do maths others can play football while yet more of us are wonderful musicians. A school such as this is just the right environment for such a diversity of people. Here talent will be nurtured and passion to learn encouraged. Our skilled and wonderful staff can help those who have problems with learning. Here the word opportunity is the catchword.

Today the blackboard is clean; the lessons have still to be written. It's is a day for optimism and hope. It's a day when a new building opens its arms to new students and staff. Pioneer Academy is a place where miracles can happen and they often do.

Education can help you become a doctor or a banker, a sportsperson or an actor. It is where seeds of learning are planted with care. Pioneer Academy is a place where you learn about respect for others and Self-discipline. This school is a place where learning is appreciated.

I hope very much that our students will find here many lifelong friends. If they do then Pioneer Academy of Science will have succeeded in doing something very special for them.

At Pioneer Academy students will receive the encouragement, the back up and the support they need to learn for themselves. Already I can feel the sense of anticipation, the feeling that there is something unique on offer here.

Pioneer Academy has something special to offer because it is a special place. Here you will have a beautiful environment in which to study. This building is the result of consultations and meetings and even more meetings. It takes a lot of time and commitment to arrange the building of a school. We have achieved our objective and we thank those who gave their time and energy so patiently and so productively.

Today then I look forward with hope to the day when Pioneer Academy will no longer be just the new school. I look forward to the day when the name of the school is equal with learning and achievement. I look forward to it being an integral part of the neighborhood.

I look forward to the day when, above all, you will be happy and pleased for knowing that here you have found the right soil to grow and develop. May the staff of the future always be happy to serve here and may the students always be proud to claim Pioneer Academy of Science as their home.
